Wow! I’ve Reached an Amazing Podcast Milestone.

I’m so excited that my podcast, “Medical Musings with Sam,” has reached over 4000 plays.

This is a huge achievement for a small podcast with a unique genre.

I’m also apparently in the top 10% of podcasts globally, according to Listen Score.

I can not thank my listeners enough. You are all amazing, and I am beyond delighted to know I am not talking to myself, and I do have a loyal podcast community supporting my vision.

To celebrate this milestone, I’ve recorded a “thank you” episode, and I’ve included the very first episode I recorded on the podcast, which is simply “My Story”.

Hope and Encouragement

I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with Sam via Medical Musings with Friends on Facebook. She and her team (and the group) are so supportive and encouraging. These podcasts are a wonderful extension of that. She is honest about dealing with chronic illness AND provides specific recommendations and tips on managing different phases that many of us endure with chronic illness. Give her a listen. You will not be disappointed.

As my readers and followers know, writing and my forum are my first loves. The podcast was a bit of an experiment to see if I could reach another audience to welcome to the “My Medical Musings” community. I never expected anyone to listen.

I have really enjoyed sharing chapters of my book in audio book style, interviewing a few others with chronic illness and sharing their stories, plus sharing interviews I’ve been honoured to be invited to be a part of as a guest on other podcasts or radio programs.

Four of my most popular podcast episodes to date are:

This is My Story, this is My Song

An Interview With My Daughter in Law, Shannon Moss

An Interview with my best friend and ex work colleague, Kaye South

An Interview with dear friend and co-administrator of Medical Musings with Friends, Nik Watson

Realistic about the hard whilst growing in hope, gratitude and contentment

That’s what I “heard” through a blog post and two podcasts. I have newly become aware of Sam in the last few days through Health Unlocked. I have literally been praying to God, “how do I live this increasingly difficult life? It is so massively changed I need new ways of living and thinking.” Many try to ignore the hard stuff and/or just “think positive”. That’s not sustainable with long-term debilitating illness. Nor is it healthy. I think I have found a fellow pilgrim, maybe even a mentor. Feeling thankful.

I also enjoy just popping in to say hi and share some of the things I write about in my blog. I do it in the hope that my experiences of living with chronic disease help others live their best life possible.

Fantastic Podcast

Sam’s podcast is brilliant! Thought provoking, informative, encouraging and really easy to listen to. Well worth a listen!

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me, encouraging me, and helping me to create a wonderful community of love, support, understanding, and friendship.

Take care

  1. Absolutely incredible, though it comes as no surprise to me. You have so many important things to say, so many insights, so much love to give. It’s not surprising so many want to listen, or to read. I think you’ve done brilliantly, Sam, you should be very proud!! xx
